Donald asks…
Seinfeld and Friends VS The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother?
The Expert answers:
They were all good shows in their own time- you really couldn’t make a show like Seinfeld now because times have really changed.
Seinfeld’s basic theme was “life is funny” Friends basic theme was “life is an endless opportunity” … And with the current economy and global crisis’s, it’s not either of those things anymore. (Or at east it would seem) Don’t get me wrong, Ross and Jerry both faced the occasional problem, but they just weren’t as heavy.
How I met Your Mother and the Big Bang Theory both emphasize problems with jobs, money problems, and being threatened by people who have complete control over you. (Like a boss or a company you work for…) So I guess for both of these, the theme is “Life is crazy”
Rather than the shows being better, I think life was just easier in the 90’s.

We turned this movie off after watching it for about 3 minutes. I even called Redbox and got a refund on the movie – which I have never done before.
It starts off really weird with characters that were not even in the previous movie. Marley is being watched by this neighbor boy and his mom thinks he “her son” is a screw up. Their acting was terrible.
Once Marley started “talking” – we turned the movie off. Marley is played by a real dog but his mouth is animated. It looked really cheesy. If Marley’s mouth won’t have been animated, we would have probably watched it of another 3 minutes or so.
This movie is meant for kids ages 4-8.
